Christmas work party, food was good and thr waitstaff excellent.
I wanted to give my mom and her partner a nice gift to celebrate their first Christmas together. He lives in Rockland, and mom spends time there with him so about 9 days ago I googled restaurants in Rockland and Bella's came up. There was an Gift Certificate Ordering Form on the website, so I ordered a gift card and the website said it would be mailed to me within days. Today is Friday 12/23 and I just called the restaurant to check on my order. I spoke to a hostess who says that the gift card part of the website doesn't work. I am horrified that they have a form for capturing credit card info which doesn't work and there is nothing on the site to stop people from using it. It's the day before I travel for Christmas and I now have no gift to bring! The hostess was just as upset (she fields these calls all day) but I am very disappointed that the restaurant knows about this and doesn't fix it. The hostess offered to take a g/c order over the phone but the g/c won't be here in time so I'm going to just get a Visa card for them instead - and I'll be telling them not to go to Bella's with it unfortunately!
Bella's should be ashamed to call themselves an Italian restaurant. The only reason I gave them the second star is because the food didn't kill me and I feel that is something to praise in this case.
Awesome building, great food, generous portions and a great wait staff. When our stated party size ended up adding two more people, the staff never complained, they just happily added an extra table and made us feel welcome and appreciated. They truly went above and beyond what was required.
I went to Bella's a few weeks ago and ordered the lemon chicken (recommended by the hostess) and there was no flavor to it at all. I decided to give Bella's another chance last night and went with an Italian staple, chicken parm, this time the food was barely edible. The sauce was extremely sweet and the chicken was rubber.
The food is edible, nothing more.
I walked in the front door and I was greeted by two lovely women who were attentive and helpful. They opened up a table in the back so my business associate and I could have some quiet during the busy lunchtime rush. The food was better than I remember. Very impressed!
